Loclet is an application concept which could let you browse location based content on your mobile phone. Loclet uses built-in GPS technology or cell tower information to find your position and display it on a map. When you are close to location based content, it will show up on the map and you can open it in the web browser of the phone. If it is a media file it will be played.

The service is currently inactive. Please note that there is no content available.

Loclet is a separate application available from http://loclet.com.

Right now the main weakness with this conecpt is its lack of attached services. An idea would be to add an interface for any user to attach services to locations of their interest, and also share such attachments to others.

For now, I can attach services to locations on request if someone here is interested. What I need is a URL and some geo coordinates (latitude and longitude), e.g. like this "URL=http://www.sonyericsson.com, LAT=55d 43.074m, LON=13d 13.645m", sent to me, posted here, or using Twitter. My email is markus.andreasson (at) sonyericsson.com. Add #loclet to the string if you send it on Twitter.
