Long overdue update.. busy working on new products ;)

Capuchin Translator is lightweight application that uses the Google Language API which I have been using on recent travels. It lets you easily translate between 42~ different languages with all the work being done server-side. It is a useful example of using Capuchin to simply wrap a web API.

In addition to providing an AJAX based API, the Google Language API is also available as RESTful service which you can access directly @

Loclet
Utilities

The Loclet service has been inactivated for various reasons. It is still possible to download the application to your phone and pan the map, but there is no content to find at any location.

If anyone want to discuss this concept, please let me know.

One of Sony Ericssons best kept secrets..

Since JP-7 phones you can set a Java ME application as your wallpaper or "stand-by" screen. This is the screen you typically see when your phone is idle.

Any Java ME application can be set as a stand-by app but since it is running as a wallpaper it needs to start quickly, do something fast and require no interaction.
You can try it yourself by simply adding the line "SEMC-StandbyApplication: Y" to the JAD file and installing the application.

We have now included Guidu from the mothership at Ericsson Labs. Its a multi-network Twitter and Fire Eagle client that includes location information. You can also follow your friends updates across the two social networks.

The mapping data makes uses of the recently launched Mobile Maps API.

Capuchin FM Radio
Travel & Entertainment

We have just published our Capuchin FM Radio which is built using our new Radio MXP (an extension package for Flash). It gives you easy access to all the Java API features, such as setting and searching for broadcasting frequencies, setting volume level, receiving RDS data and creating persistent presets.

Please give the app a go and let us know what you think. You can get the the Radio MXP and more @ http://developer.sonyericsson.com/site/global/docstools/projectcapuchin/...

Loclet
Utilities

I realize that every user of Loclet should be able to add services (e.g. URL to web pages) to locations of their interest. However, this feature is not yet implemented. For now, I can manually add services to locations on request if someone here is interested. What I need is a URL to the service and latitude plus longitude for the location, e.g. like this:

URL=http://www.sonyericsson.com, LAT=55d 43.074m, LON=13d 13.645m
